WHAT IS THE SHELLFISH SHOWCASE?

We are excited to introduce a creative line-up of seasonal events showcasing what’s fresh and local throughout the year. Our first event will focus on local shellfish! Diners and chefs alike have expressed an interest to explore the bounty of the Pacific Northwest. Chefs can create dishes driven by what’s local and inspiring while diners will be intrigued to seek out new restaurants and check in with their old favorite to try new shellfish dishes!

 

HOW IT WORKS:

Dates: January 7th – 25th, 2018, Sunday – Thursday (Friday and Saturday excluded)

Meal Pricing: There are no set prices for menu items. Prices are driven by your menu selections. We encourage you to set price points that you feel will offer value for money.

Menu Offerings: You must offer four items on your Shellfish Showcase menu, a minimum of two must be entrees. You may also offer the shellfish showcase menu items (a minimum of two) at lunch, but that’s optional. Brunch is excluded. A customer may choose to order just 1 item from your selection of 4 choices or possibly they will order 2 – an appetizer and entree.

Participation: Your must submit your Shellfish Showcase menu items so they may be listed on the Dine Around Seattle site. Additionally, you must create a printed menu highlighting your Shellfish Showcase menu items. We encourage you to create menu items specifically for the Shellfish Showcase but you may also highlight items featured on your current menu. The Shellfish Showcase menu should be distributed to all customers during the promotional period regardless if they inquire about the promotion.

Registration:
If you complete payment for both SRW and Shellfish Showcase you will be enrolled in both programs. We will follow up in November to gather information for Shellfish Showcase.

 

WHAT YOU GET:

Local foodie customers: We deliver Seattle’s affluent, urban professionals who dine out frequently and support local businesses. We invite them to find new local favorites and rediscover old ones!

Dedicated promotion for your restaurant: Full-page profile on dinearoundseattle.org, listing on rackcards and posters, and multiple social tags for your restaurant.

Ongoing advertising: Five weeks of print ads, online, direct email, social media, bus, radio, TV, street teams, and print collateral to deliver a steady up-tic in business. The event will leverage the promotional power of Seattle Restaurant Week, Dine Around Seattle, and The Seattle Times, along with other media partners.

 

WHAT IS THE COST TO PARTICIPATE?

Registration for Shellfish Showcase only:

$350 for returning DAS or SRW restaurants (Plus 2 – $50 gift certificates)

$450 for restaurants new to the promotion. (Plus 2 – $50 gift certificates)

There are no discounts available for multiple venue registration.

 

Registration for Shellfish Showcase and Seattle Restaurant Week

$1000 for returning DAS or SRW restaurants and restaurants new to the promotion (Plus 4 – $50 gift certificates)

In registering for both events together you will lock in the lowest registration fees for both events.

 

WHAT ARE THE KEY DEADLINES?

July 31st – Registration opens

September 1st – Special combined pricing for SRW & Shellfish Showcase closes

December 8th – Shellfish Showcase registration and payment due

December 15th – Menus and gift cards due

 

HOW ARE SEASONAL EVENTS DIFFERENT FROM SEATTLE RESTAURANT WEEK?

The seasonal events will focus on a specific local culinary item. For January we will highlight local shellfish.

Our seasonal events will not have fixed price menus, rather restaurants will let menu selections guide their price points.

A smaller group of restaurants will participate in our seasonal events. Approximately 45 – 50 versus 150+ participation in Seattle Restaurant Week. Fewer restaurants participating can have the advantage of more individualized media coverage.

The seasonal events will be held for two weeks vs. three weeks for the Seattle Restaurant Week events.
